Hello, my name is Melissa Samaki. I am a registered nurse with 11 years of experience caring for families with newborns in hospital and community settings. The years of parenting my four children, teaching prenatal classes, providing home visitation nurse services and facilitating postpartum and breastfeeding support groups give me a unique perspective on the needs of growing families representing many diverse backgrounds.
As a certified childbirth educator and Evidence Based Birth® Instructor, I provide virtual and in-person prenatal classes designed to meet the unique needs of every family.
As an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), I provide prenatal breastfeeding education and consultations, as well as in-person lactation consultations during postpartum.
As a certified postpartum doula, I provide support out of a heart of compassion and understanding. As a mother of four children, I experienced first-hand how challenging the first months with a baby can be, physically and emotionally. My desire is to normalize the need to support growing families so they can thrive. My in-home postpartum services are designed to give families the space and time they need to rest, recover, bond with baby, and adjust to a new normal.
As a trained peer emotional coach, I support the birthing person experiencing emotional challenges during pregnancy and postpartum and assist connecting them to professional support and community resources.
